Hi everybody, my name’s Anna!
I have two children, a girl who’s a very tall (6’2″) 16 year old and a son who is about to turn 8. I study at education at uni and hope to become a teacher some day.
I love all things fantasy and sci-fi and am a sucker for most post apocalyptic. I’m an accomplished photographer and digital artist (you can find some of my work on my photography website or on Flickr.com ) and I love to read.
Most recently I discovered the joy of sewing, which is what this site is all about. This is where I discuss, review, share, etc. everything to do with sewing. I hope you enjoy looking around… eventually there will be more content, but things are still pretty new round here!.
Mom, photographer, sewer and all round geek!
I started sewing when I was in school but didn’t keep at it, for lots of different reasons.
I asked my husband for a sewing machine, for my birthday…and even got an overlocker for christmas! Here in the U.K. there were a lot of people getting back into sewing, mostly due to a super programme called The great british sewing bee! That’s why I wanted to start sewing again, but I didn’t really have the time, as I was also studying and doing a work placement too…
This last year, things have finally calmed down enough for me to finally start sewing…
And now I’m hooked…
That’s why I started this site. It’s a way for me to document my sewing journey, with all its cock-ups and achievements and its also a way for me to give back to the great bunch of people that is the sewing community, by hopefully collecting tips, that I can share, reviewing stuff that I think is great…or not so much, and generally interacting and showing you all a bit of sewlidarity!
My other skills
I’m pretty darned good at both photography and Photoshop. It’d be nice to be able to share some of the valuable tips, tricks and advice I’ve gathered along the way ’cause…lets face it…we’d all appreciate some lovely shots of our finished makes and of anything else we might want to remember!
If I get the time, I might try and make some actions and presets for Photoshop and Lightroom…anything that makes things look pretty and saves time is a plus in my book!
What’s been happening round here?
